BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
A studio artists and teacher, Emily DuBois received degrees from Rochester Institute
of Technology School for American Crafts and California College of Arts and Crafts,
and postgraduate training at the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology in Benaras.
In 1984 she was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Individual Artist
Fellowship, and in 1989/90 a California Arts Council Fellowship in Visual Arts. She is a
lecturer at University of California, Davis, and maintains a studio in Benicia. Her work
has been exhibited internationally including the Crafts Council, London; Nederlands
Textielmuseum Tilburg, Musee des Arts Decoratifs de Lausanne, Citizens Gallery
Nagoya, Japan and the Central Museum of Textiles, Lodz, Poland. Bay Area
exhibitions have included Hewlett Packard Corporation, Bank of America World
Headquarters Gallery, San Francisco State University, Allrich Gallery, and the
California Crafts Museum, among many others.
